Depends on what units you are crunching. If it's a600pointer (RIBO inthe name) a week sounds about right dependingonhardware.

E.P's is.. either 3400+ or higher.. i seem to remember that from his iguana sig.. then again, it may have updated since then :lick:I'm on my 5th WU now, points racking up quite nicely.. well, goodenough anyways, should be over 250 point when i finish this one

edit: yeah stolen from the benchmark threads
CPU: AMD Athlon64 3400+ @ 2.2ghz
Motherboard: MSI Neo FiS2R, Bios rev 1.8
Memory: 2x512meg Crucial CAS3 DDR

Yes, since I have a P4 HT I run two processes, one foreachsubprocessor. A normal FAH process can only use one of theprocessors. The second process is a console process since the graphicalclient canonly be run once.

Any way i could run two?

If you have a HT or multiprocessor system, yes, but on a single cpu system there is no point.
I run the second one as a service in windows, but it was really trickyto set up. There are tools to do it with, but they interfere with thegraphical version. I don't remember which one I used in the end.

It's good that your helping but do make sure you have permission from those @ the top at school (aka more then a teacher .. maybe principle?). :classic:

DUDE, i OWN THIS SCHOOL when it comes to tech, lol just the tech teacher will probably give me the ok, i dont feel like talking to the principal, he chewed me out for cutting him off and driving around cars like two or three days ago.

Re: Folding@home Team page created.

^ I said that when I was in high school too. End result, I got banned from the computers for my last two years. Humble thyself before you are forced to.

Re: Folding@home Team page created.

I know for a fact i couldn't install it at college, they had us all sign to say we wouldn't do this type of thing...

On my 6th WU now, a 5000 frame running at 6.3 s/frame - now that's my kinda WU

Re: Folding@home Team page created.

I can't believe this!! The graphical version just refuses to workright! If I reboot while it's doing a unit it will screw up the coreshutdown when the unit is eventually ready, be unable to send theresults and I get no points. There goes another 600!

Normaly the output would be like this:
Code:
[05:26:13] Completed 250000 out of 250000 steps (100)
[05:26:13] Writing final coordinates.
[05:26:16] Past main M.D. loop
[05:27:16]
[05:27:16] Finished Work Unit:
[05:27:16] - Reading up to 2032080 from "work/wudata_00.arc": Read 2032080
[05:27:16] - Reading up to 1871172 from "work/wudata_00.xtc": Read 1871172
[05:27:16] goefile size: 0
[05:27:16] logfile size: 73961
[05:27:16] Leaving Run
[05:27:18] - Writing 3984945 bytes of core data to disk...
[05:27:18] ... Done.
[05:27:18] - Shutting down core
[05:27:18]
[05:27:18] Folding@home Core Shutdown: FINISHED_UNIT
[05:27:21] CoreStatus = 64 (100)
[05:27:21] Sending work to server

But I get something like this (the log file was replaced when I restarted now, figures):

[05:27:18] ... Done.
[05:27:18] - Shutting down core
[05:27:18]
[05:27:18] Folding@home Core Shutdown
And there it hangs forever, until I restart FAH. WTH is this? Anyone else seen this?

Yeah, same here. Pretty understandable.

Congratulations - We have made the 4000 club !

:) Well done everyone - we have completed over 4000 WU's :)

Now we need to get into the sub 300 Club - and we are nearly there too!

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

Yeah, same here. Pretty understandable.

Re: Folding@home Team page created.

Just joined up. Should have my first WU done in 5 days. Wow. 5 days.

Re: Folding@home Team page created.

Just sold my XPS so that will cut my folding in half :-(

Re: Folding@home Team page created.

Admiral_Michael, it's good to see you posting your first WU, and a big one at that.

Lancer and vivid_vibe, thanks for joining the OSNN folding team. The team needs all the help it can get as we move past 300 on towards 250.

We passed 400 on Christmas Eve or Day. It will be some 53-55 days to get to 300. I'm sure we can do another 50 places in 55 days at the rate we're folding now.

Re: Folding@home Team page created.

I started again.
Got any tips ?

I am sure it used to be faster in the old days?

Re: Folding@home Team page created.

Looks like everyone just uses default settings I guess?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
