Hey its cooling down outside. Lets get to Folding people!

If someone could find my thread........

Sadly I could only find one thread that you started that has been locked, and the contents of the first post were edited out. Therefore, I think it has been lost forever. I tried.

I get to build us four new multi-core systems. Later this year, so either some new AMD's or some new C2D's. A few gigs of RAM. Very nice.....very nice. ARRRRRRRRRR!!!

Folding has been slow on my end, That will change soon :)

well i'm back folding again, not sure when the wu's will show up, been doing so since yesterday and today on my intel extreme quad core, with foldings new multi-core client. wonder how well.... ok just looked over at the task manager all fours cores are at 85% this should be very fun.....

ok i am back and working like the load-bearing dog that i am..... has folding fallen off the radar here at osnn?

Average is still 10k and over.

I am taking a breather right now. Will join back up when my new system is in place and running :)

Im still going, server is only a 866MHz P3 since my STL2 fell through. But it keeps ploding along :)

Hey People, What can we do to get more people to actively fold?

Hey team, I am proud to announce that I have some time this weekend, and I will be plugging in the PS3 to help the team, I will be dedicating a full 2 weeks non stop to the project.

I should be up and running sometime this evening. I cant wait to see the numbers.

I also am curious in keeping track of points a full 14 days will rack up.

to be continued.................:)

my only concern is based on something i read below

The Numbers
Firing up folding at home brings my (60gb) PS3’s power consumption to an eyebrow raising 234 watts. This is in the same league as many high end gaming PCs. When the screensaver kicks in, that number drops to about 215 watts. With screensaver on or off, the draw is very consistent so calculations can be extrapolated from these two simple numbers. So without further adu, let’s do some math.
234 watts of constant draw is 0.234 kWh per hour. So, if ran for 24 hours straight a PS3 folding without the screensaver would draw 5.616 kWh (0.234 x 24).
5.616 kWh a day x 31 days = 174.096 kWh a month x 23 cents per kWh = $40.04
Thats right; $40 a month is the worst case scenario based on my power rates. I don’t think I need to tell you that that is no insignificant amount of money. Let’s run the screensaver numbers.
5.16 x 31 = 159.96 x 23 = $36.79

well.. my daily avg has been getting better since the new core for amd64 cpus with sse2 support came out...

i just wish i could get those wu more often : |

i think that is nonsense, i have a 1kw psu and i know it doesn't cost that much, its usually running at about 500w's continuously. Also high end gaming pc's run a lot higher than 234watts.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
