Yah, I am scaling all my items back from 95% to 80% for the cpu and 75% for the gpu.

Damn thing is very cool and quiet but I don't want to over-do it 🙂

-edit-

Having some issues running the gpu client at the moment. Keeps shutting down on me.

Trying to dabble with the gui based client. Anyone have info on this? I'll be browsing the r3d forums looking for info in the meantime.

Me too lol.

It's sort of on hold at the moment while I get all details hammered out. Can't run the bugger as a straight up service and no way in hell am I leaving the console window open. GUI client currently has some issues so I am sort of scrambling for a custom solution.

Unfortunately, not too many people folding with Vista 🙁

I'm folding, haven't run into any problems that others seem to be.

*shrug*

What gpu are you running?

Want to list exactly what you have done and what drivers you are using?

I want to make it as auto-mated and out of sight as I can 🙂

I have the ATI Radeon X1600 card - nothing special but it was around when needing in a pinch. Driver version seems to be 8.342.0.0 per my Device Manager, don't think I have fiddled with those much.

-edit-

Just checked, apparently I'm not folding right now on my Vista box. I'll have to check into this, wtf!

A nice little tool for the people using the GPU console client.

It can't be run as a service, unless you really work hard to get it going and know how to play with services relatively well.

Otherwise, start it manually and use the following application.

http://www.teamcti.com/trayit/trayit.htm

Once you run the application, simply hold the CTRL key while you are minimizing the console window and it will automatically minimize to your notification tray.

Voila, clean taskbar.

Hope this helps 🙂

The GPU client is ramping up nicely 🙂

At 60% load it is crunching nicely. Will be able to see how productive it is once it starts subbing for me 😀

On the flip side of the cpu client though, it sure as heck uses a a lot of memory.

*grumble*

one of the configuration files on one of my clients got all mangled.. it had been submitting WU anonymously! Grrr...

oh so THAT's who anonymous was 😱

Well, it's still all to the team effort buddy so it's not all bad. You'll catch up in no time 😎

/me secretly checks all his configuration files just in case. yup, all good.

Question, do we have any SP members (who are not OSNN as well) folding?

I am asking because some people on The Hobby Lounge (http://www.betanetwork.net/hobbylounge/index.php) are interested in signing up after seeing Net's gadget (they appreciate quality).

Sfkilla has said he will post the gadget and news on his front page so let me know guys. I don't want a 20 character long user name. If SP peeps are no longer folding, I can drop the name and keep it with OSNN and NVN and HL.

Isn't x taking over SP? Or we did already...so ineffect you could drop it, no?

More folders would be great.

Well, I didn't want to offend anyone and I thought it best to ask before doing anything.

I'll work it out over the weekend.

Sfkilla @ hobby lounge has already front-paged net's app (yay, now all net has to do is submit on the OFFICIAL gadget site 😀 ) and some people are interested. If we can get a couple more folders here and there, the team can easily output about 20k per day towards this great cause 😀

It's cool.

People @ nvnews, beyond3d, rage3d, the hobby lounge and the folding forum all seem happy with it 😀

Now Net needs to post it on the gadget site so we can all give it a positive rating and add pressure for more features lol😉

To be honest I have no clue what SP is or NVNews for that matter. I think I signed on when it was plain ol' OSNN.

Nvnews is an affiliate site. www.nvnews.net

SP is spammers paradise. I've been to the front page a couple of times but not their forums.

Right now, my biggest concern is the fact that Stanford's servers apparently have MAJOR issues with accepting data and its pissing the hell out of me seeing 2, 3 or even 4 units queue'd, waiting to be subbed.

Great cause, great university, crappy servers. Issues been on-going for almost 2 or 3 weeks. Maybe longer, I just didn't notice my units not being subbed properly for a while.
