'grats 🙂

I am still trying to work my way back over 400 per day lol.

My desktop is going to be offline more often than not over the course of this month so my production will dip a little.

But my notebook is plugging along like the little trooper it is 😉

Anyone know if there is a Vista side-bar applet for F@H?

🙂

Okies, I dl'd it but how the heck do I get it to work?

Granted I dl'd and tried to add to the sidebar immediately 🙂 but what is the process?

It's not an automatic thing as far as I can see.
Hehe. It can't really be automatic because different people install the F@H client in different locations.
Just click the little hover-over Options icon (the wrench), or right-click the gadget and click Options. Then specify the folder where your F@H binary is located, and it should be good to go. 🙂

Edit: Also, if you're using both cores, like I am, you can just add two instances of the gadget to the sidebar and point each one to the respective directory to monitor the progress of both WUs.

Didn't mean auto wrt locating the path 😀

Meant that it doesn't just attach to the sidebar, allowing me to do ma thang and point it to the right path.

Was wondering if I was dling and opening it incorrectly.

Lemme know 😀

Will have it up and running tonight hopefully. Should also be able to speard the reps and get you some more then 😉

Oh, I see the problem. IE is detecting the MIME type of the file as ZIP (since a .gadget file is basically a ZIP archive). If you click the download link in Firefox, you get a "Open with Windows.gadget" option.

So if you're using IE, just right-click the download link, select "Save Target As" and save it to your desktop as "fahmonitor.gadget" Then you should be able to just double-click the desktop icon to install it.

In the meantime, I'll have to see how to get IE to detect it as a gadget file.
Thanks for letting me know about this. 🙂

Anyone have this running on an e6600 or any of the dual-core processors and effectively getting over the 50% cpu usage mark? I did a little searching and came across the beta console SMP version but on the FAQ page they recommended using it on 4 cores and not 2.

Haven't tried the beta SMP version yet on my dual core.. I still run two console clients as a service to use both cores..

Yeah, I read an article about using the command line to try and do what you're doing fitz...I guess I'll just wait until they release a version for us non quad-core folks.
