The problem: It will suspend fine... go into memory, nothing but the awake light blinking.... this is good. But hit enter to wake it up... it wakes up, but then immediately shuts down. I listed below what I thought might be important config settings for you to see. Ideas/suggestions...

using you expertise to see if there are any potential hardware compatibility issues with this laptop with linux? Will be using it for internet, office apps, some graphix, nothing extreme. not a gamer...

I have tried just about all of them, atleast that I know of; Firefox, Konqueror, Flock, seamonkey and Opera. I really like FF, but it seems to be acting wierd these days on a few websites. My other top choice is Opera. It is very very fast and doesnt give me a problems on any wepage...

PCLinuxOS.... i figured it would be in a generic .conf file BTW i am using KDE 3.5

I know in windows with certains programs (via registry) you could control menu speeds (Example: hitting the start button and browsing favorites). Is there away to control the menu speeds in Linux? I would like to slow mine down just a little bit. Im sure it is probably measured in...

I recommend PCLinuxOS (PCLOS for short). Reason why, it is very easy. It is a live CD and installable CD all in one..... and is only one CD to download. PCLOS just works. It comes with all of the multimedia plugins installed which is a huge plus. It uses Synaptic to upgrade/download...

actually I am doing it the only way I know how. That is creating a workgroup, shared directory and creating a mount point for it. I am using PCLinuxOS on both machines with Fat32 directory drives on both machines that will be shared. So if there is a better, more secure way of doing it...

I have created a network between 2 PCLOS machines using using samba. In the config for the shares, I have them as public, read and write permissions. I can see each machine fine, but do not have write permissions. Im sure it is a simple permissions thing but dont know enough about setting up...
