That's why there are Linux alternatives, like Gimp for Photoshop, OpenOffice for MS Office etc. Certain Windows-only programs can also run with Crossover, although it's not free. But if you're familiar and comfortable with Windows apps, you might as well just use XP. I'm a Windows person myself - have always used Linux only for the learning experience, never as a replacement desktop OS.
