The Official Windows Mobile Discussion Thread

Still though, 8125 is nicer :D

I like how I only need the "Outlook Email" on my phone now. I can send, receive and reply from one place, very sexy.

Something else I thought was cool was when I set it up, it actually enforced a policy on my phone, requiring an interval until the phone would lock, which I hadn't yet setup.

The 8525 will blow the 8125 away. That's what I'm waiting for. Hopefully next week.

I'm sure it will, but it's out of my price range

Another cool feature, if I delete items from my phone it actually deletes from my inbox as well. This was a feature lacking in POP3 obviously, but very convenient now.

Since everything works with Exchange directly, not even sure why I need Activesync on my home machine anymore :D

Woo.

Good find. Not up on the Windows Mobile site yet.

Windows Mobile Device Center and Vista RC1

An update from the Mobile and Embedded Devices Team: The Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) Application is an independent application apart from Windows Vista. Windows Vista RC1 includes the WMDC driver which enables you to sync music, acquire pictures and browse the contents of your device. The full WMDC application enables you to synchronize email, contacts, calendar appointments and more. The RC version of WMDC for Vista RC1 will ship very soon, while at this time WMDC is only available for Vista Beta 2.

NR, what's the deal? You have time for non-community members but no time for someone you've known for years? GAH!

Derek, you're not kidding. The 8525 is going to be one sweet device. I did, however, hear that it was pushed back a month due to a bug in the latest ROM.

I'm in Manhattan until next Tuesday. Perris, you, Ryan and I should meet up one day. How does that sound?

Since I did a hard reset on my phone this morning (things were a little off, all data is synchronized anyway), I also figured I would give ActiveSync 4.5 Beta 2 a try.

It is installed and working nicely, I'll play with it for a few days and see what happens.

Anyone know how to have Activesync only run under one user profile on a PC? It pops up under everyone who logs in to the machine, sometimes it makes things a bit cranky when I go to use it again.

-edit-

I like the new icon :)

Thoughts?

ActiveSync should only popup for the profile it was installed/configured under. When installed it is added to HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

You can stop it from running by deleting the key for it.

I'll have to check that key out, eventhough it's been more annoying now after the install of 4.5 Beta 2, it has always occured on my home PC which is a shared machine.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
