well, the Predator mode in FarCry Vengeance looks pretty freakin sweet.
vivid: don't get me wrong.... this is the "day and age" where HD is ADVERTISED.... but i read something recently where HD isn't catching on as fast as it was expected. not everybody is ready and willing, or even seeing any point for going out and spending a grand or a few on a good HDTV when they have nothing that will really use it to its full potential, nor do they see spending $500-600 for a console that stresses HD when they have no HDTV. one reason why i think Nintendo is highly praised. they stress gameplay, not having top-notch graphics with games that have a high chance of having the worst gameplay in history. there were a few great games on PS2... was hit and miss. mostly God of War.... but that game had ZERO replay value. you couldn't even really finish the game then go around and mess with crap.... besides whatever was around that stupid throne.
Xbox also had hit and miss games. The only games that ever held my attention for an extended period of time were ones i got for Gamecube. a couple friends and i played Soul Calibur 2 on my gamecube for quite a long time. Paid $50 for Soul Calibur 3 on one friend's PS2... played for a few hours. just didn't seem as fun.
i say f*ck graphics. if a company can make games that are SO much fun to play, and not look that great, i'm all for it. 360 seems nice and all..... but i don't regret spending 6 hours outside wal-mart to wait for it to be released. hell, i'd do it again. was an interesting experience. people are freakin retarded though for sitting outside for DAYS waiting for the idiotic PS3.
edit: Techno: YES! the Wii is a blast. i waited for 6 hours at wal mart...... after i had it in my hands, on the drive home, i started thinking to myself whether it'll be fun to play or not. my mind was 100% made up the first time i popped in Wii Sports and played some Baseball. and that's not even a FULL GAME! you don't even get to control the outfielders or your base runners. all you control is hitting and throwing. I was actually just at work (liquor store mind you), and these two people were there.... they said that they played Wii Boxing, and after one round, they were getting a bit tired. now... Boxing is probably one of the most frustrating games in the Wii Sports package, since half the time you can't figure out how to do a specific punch like a high hook (usually when i try to do the motion, it either punches the guy in the face, or as i swing my arm out, he punches way off to the side)... but even if it works pretty good for you the entire match it's tiring as hell.
DEFINITELY get one. wouldn't say it'd be a gym equipment replacement... but you'll sure as hell have fun on it.
