FBD, I encountered this problem on a test box and here's what I came up with.

1. Run regedit
2. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and find the entry for .TIF
3. Right click on the entry in the left pane and select “Permissions…”
4. Click on the “Advanced” button at the lower right
5. Select "Administrators" and click "Edit"
6. Make sure "Full Control" is set to allowed

Repeat these steps for .TIFF

Reboot and install Internet Explorer 7.

If this doesn't correct the issue then check permissions for .HTA, .HTT, .HTM, and .HTML

Let me know.

Memory management is awesome in this. Open up a whole bunch of tabs and watch as the memory usage goes up in Task Manager. Then minimize the window and watch it drop down to almost 3MB! :D

I'm pretty sure that is because of its caching pages in memory, older versions used to page their memory out as well.

You're probably right. If I remember correctly, the high memory usage that people were/are seeing and thought was a memory leak in Firefox 1.5 was attributed to the same thing.

Finally have a chance to play with this, been surfing on it for about 2 hours. Nothing really new that I've noticed so far, although I do see that the forum typing is fixed :)

By this - I mean that in previous versions of the Beta, if you are typing in the quick reply box or another posting box, the text is crazy slowwww and delayed. Good to see that is worked out now :)

OK, how do I remove the first IE7 beta, I tried to uninstall it from Add/Remove and it gave me an error. Beautiful. IE7B2 says I have to uninstall the other beta first.

Eck, I had to download the uninstall program, since mine was somehow corrupted. Run it twice, reboot twice, do some registry editting and then install the new beta. Stupid.

I had to remove the install entry from the registry to get the second beta to install.

Why do people get so mad if a Beta doesn't install/work/un-install or smell the way that full versions of software should?

Don't like it, don't use it. Don't complain about Beta software being buggy. Report the issue/bug or turn off your PC :p

I don't care that it is buggy, but don't you think that those instructions should be on the website where you download the update, instead of me having to search through newsgroups to find the answer?

Beta software isn't supported directly by Microsoft. It says that you will have to check newsgroups for answers - isn't that good enough?

I can hold your hand while you tie your shoes if you want as well ;)

Just kidding :D

Okay, you don't want MSFEEDS.DLL on your HDD before you install IE7.

You checked TIF/TIFF and both files had full rights? Check GIF and JPG next.

HTM, HTML, HTA, HTT, etc.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
