When I am using Win 98 on my network and share folders I can protect my folders with a passwords. Does the new Win XP Home operate the same way or has something changed?

No, XP operates like either Win2k (with simple file sharing disabled) based on username and password, or the new Windows XP "simple file sharing" where the directory is either Read or Read/Write, no password options

To use non-simple file sharing, you need to create an account on the XP machine with the appropriate rights, then enter the XP machine's username and password into the 95/98 Client For Microsoft Networks logon screen.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
