Valve's Steam

[ming]

can someone organise something for cs? just for ntfs members? 😉

[Electronic Punk]

Well the way "friends" works, if you see one of us on the list playing a game you hop in.

Things are a little hectic atm, for me to play games! 🙂

[xsivforce]

We'll get something set up soon. 😉

[Electronic Punk]

There should be a steam related update today hopefully as it tends to get an update at 3am GMT on Thursdays - (7pm Wednesday on Valve's time)

XMAS Eve - No update
NYE - A week of international version updates
TODAY -
NEXT WEEK - New CS Timing System, New Cash Reward System

I wonder what today holds?

[Not Bman]

So, is Steam something like Gamespy Arcade?

[Electronic Punk]

No, it's not bloated and has an IM componant rather than a chat client.
No comparison really... The server browser is alot better in gamespy now, which in turn is alot better than the old HL server browser.

[Not Bman]

So, if I was to say that right now I'm using Gamespy, do you think I should switch over to Steam?

[DanceAnthems]

Me be DanceAnthems on steam
time to kick ass and chew bubble gum 🙂

[Electronic Punk]

and I'm all outta gum.

yes, cheesecake and b00bs

[Not Bman]

does nobody answer me?

[Electronic Punk]

Sorry, I missed your post.

Well the new Steam has an integrated IM which is alot more efficient than Gamespys playerspy as it is integrated, you can talk to you buddies when they are in a game and with 2 clicks join the game they are in.

The server browser nearly has as many filter options and is alot faster and can be run while you are in a game.

Gamespy does now support Steam, but why would you need it?

[Not Bman]

Why would I need what, which one? I'm lazy right now, so I'm sticking with gamespy for now I guess.

[DanceAnthems]

Go for steam
gamespy can play up and steam just works 🙂

[Dubbin1]

Im known as MrGrumpySocks

[xsivforce]

Im known as MrGrumpySocks

I'm not gonna ask where that name came from. 😉

[X-Istence]

You have to buy the old Half Life, then download steam and you get all the addons free of charge.

[Electronic Punk]

There is an awesome CS update out tonight 🙂
