(not sure where this goes)

I have a new CD KEY for Windows XP Pro (reason not need to explain)

I heard of a program thats from Microsoft, that changes it. I can't find it?

Does anyone know of it? Or a way to do this?

Thanks

Should I trust any of those programs? I was hoping for the Microsoft one...

Look at the one that I posted BMAN.
1.Click Start, and then click Run.2.In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.3.In the left pane, locate and then click the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\WPAEvents
4.In the right pane, right-click OOBETimer, and then click Modify.5.Change at least one digit of this value to deactivate Windows.6.Click Start, and then click Run.7.In the Open box, type the following command, and then click OK.%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a
8.Click Yes, I want to telephone a customer service representative to activate Windows, and then click Next.9.Click Change Product key.10.Type the new product key in the New key boxes, and then click Update.

If you are returned to the previous window, click Remind me later, and then restart the computer.11.Repeat steps 6 and 7 to verify that Windows is activated. You receive the following message: Windows is already activated. Click OK to exit.
12.Click OK.
6.7.8.9.

EDIT: the formatting is incorrect, but it works.

Yeah the MS tool came out a month or two ago I think.

Really, I thought it was an old thing. Good thing this is the first time I have ever needed to change the key.

Thanks again.

I think the "User Friendly Way" (the one that you found) is newer. The one that I posted, has definitely been out for a while

Either that or it was updated recently, can't remember really.

Yea it has probably, I just like using Microsoft products (when dealing with windows) if I can.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
