A computer with a base score of 4 or 5 is able to run all new features of Windows Vista with full functionality, and it is able to support high-end, graphics-intensive experiences, such as multiplayer and 3?D gaming and recording and playback of HDTV content.
You only need a 4 to run everything that Vista has to offer.
While somewhat on the topic, I read somewhere that the 10k rpm raptor drives only give about a 1% increase in performance of RAID 0 versus flying solo - can anyone support or combat that?
Oh? You installed it? I guess you found the product key. You're welcome! =)
I think people should remember that when you purchase Ultimate you get both 32 and 64 bit DVD's in the box.
Had not heard this!
Any details on how the key/activation process operates if you install 32 and want to switch to 64 BIT when it is better supported?
I assume installing both versions is not allowed. Even in a dual boot configuration.
Actually, only the Ultimate retail box comes with both 32 and 64-bit media. All editions come with 32/64bit if you buy retail boxed. You can run one or the other, not both.
What is the score your E6600 is getting?I love Vista with everything in me. Only problem I have is that I don't want to upgrade from nero 6 to 7, so it's my fault. imgburn works fine otherwise.
Performance rating of 5.3 and I think I can do better but for some reason my Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 is my slowest part!!!!!
The overall score is equal to the lowest subscore. So his E6600 is getting a 5.3 🙂What is the score your E6600 is getting?
Well there are a lot of hardware and software incompatibilities at this time with Vista no matter what certain voices here would like you to believe. I will not go on as I am not allowed to discuss Vista in a bad light at this forum. The "powers that be" are very pro-MS so you might want to get an unbiased opinion elsewhere.
