are you sure about that? i use Fileplanet quite often, and when i have it set to bits, it says around 2.9Mbps, but when i set it to Bytes, it says like 370KB/s. if that's correct, and for you it said around 10,000KB/s, then it would have really only been around 7-8Mbps.

1 MB/s == 8Mbit
So 10MB/s == 80Mbit

My home connection is decent ... 1.5mbps down and 256kbps up. I wish I had more upstream bandwidth though.

Upstream at work and school is insane. I have classes right next to the state backbone that supplies bandwidth to all educational institutions in Northern Minnesota.
