NvNews + OSNN + SP Folding Team

Yah, I am hoping our pace can continue too.

In april, I am getting a 1950XT agp to fold so it should help my output some.

If we can settle on 15-20k a day, I think that would be ace. Net is sort of out of the folding loop temporarily 🙂

And I am hoping more of the peeps on the nvnews forums who used to fold will get back into the f@ld.

Does it give you a specific file or a virus name it detects it as?

Thought I listed it but guess not. Anyways, It's listing SRVANY.EXE application.SrvAny.G as a virus.

Really weird, I have no idea on that one. I'll try to jump over to their forums and see if there is anything.

If you disable your A/V, can you get it setup and then would it run without issue? I'm pretty sure that file just helps with creation of the services, but I could be wrong

srvany is an executable that can run any application as a service..

I suppose it COULD be used by a malicious program to install a trojan/backdoor to run as a service.. but by itself (or used properly) it is a valid application.

I despise how some AV programs take valid programs and flag them.. like how Symantec is always flagging my port scanners as a virus/trojan..

Yeah, I guess it's a case of crossing that pro-active line and just becoming aggressive. I guess I'd rather it err on the safe side though. 🙂

Hey team, This morning I finally was able to update my PS3 to version 1.60 and install the Folding client. I did take some pics during the install with my Razr. So I apologize for the crappy pics. I did not have much time to play around with it this morning due to a busy day. plus I will try to atleast have in on this weekend sometime to finish one unit. the first one I see is 400000.

I figured i was break down the process I experienced

1) downloading and installing was very simple and fast


2)Once installed, The main screen pops up


3)Entered my id and team number


4)Checked my current points throught the ps3 web browser


5)Checking out the team page


6)the options page using the controller


7) Folding on my PS3 watching it on my 56"DLP JVC = Priceless!



The only gripe i have is that i wish the next update will allow folding to work in the background so you can still play games. 🙂

just wanted to add that The CELL is freakin FAST, and to watch the folding number crunch is amazing!
