maybe you have a bad install of PP. try reinstalling it and see what happens.

Don't even get me started on the bugs in powerpoint and excel XP

I've had quite a few issues with both of them. I'm assuming your using officeXP as well? if so make sure you upgrade to SP-1 for office, that clears some of the problems up.
