Got the adapter and have the PC talking to the Razor using 0000 as the passkey.

Question - what/how do I changee the code (more appropriately, how do I secure BT connections?).

I turn off BT on the phone other than trying to synch - no BT headset yet.

When I get the headset how do I secure my communications so everyone doesnt tune in an listen??

it will probably come with a passkey written on the manual and its only one code which is probably not 0000 it will be something that someone won't guess.

you cannot change the passkey on Bluetooth handsfree earpieces. it shouldn't really matter anyway because all one can do is pair it to 1 device only - you cannot pair it with another device until you've unpaired it from its current connection & reset the headset.

Thanks for the updates and sorry I wasnt clear.

I am talking about setting security between my PC and the Razor.

I will need to get a BT headset later, for now I am wanting to know if I can set something other than 0000, to communitcate between the two

when you pair between a Razrt and a PC you should define the pass key on one device then the next will ask for it.

OK, between the PC and the Phone... like VenomXt said. You enter a passkey of your choice on the PC (once you've found the razor in range), you're phone will then ask you to key in the passkey to pair the phone to the PC. You enter the same passkey that you just created on to you phone and you're done. :)

As for the headset, you can't change the passkey on it as I've mentioned earlier.

to my knowledge I believe the encryption is combined with a piece of temporal information from the time of pairing as well as the pair key. Also Bluetooth 1.0 at least, am not sure about 2.0 is not really that secure. It utilises WEP style encryption system for its security which we should all know by now is highly vulnerable to collision attacks.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
