AMD Dual Durons !

It may well be more economical to produce, but the engineering costs and labour for something that would only end up breaking current SMP standards and be no more efficient (possibly even less) would seem frivilous to most chipmakers. Besides, it would be impossible to cool, as stated before.

it would be stupid.

If it were to be done, it would be a) your standard dual chip board. b) 2 chips integrated into 1.

the only benefit of a side by side chip would be a one large heatsink instead of two

May be easier to cool the one area than two hotspots with a case fan , but as far as power increase it would be the same

um...
1) make it two cpus on one chip(1 ceramic - two dies)
2) use an everyday smp chipset
3) one big heatsink, like thoughs old intel ones, with two fans on it
4) power wouldn't be a problem, there are quad xeon mobos, so, whats so bad about two durons?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
