Rumors and buzz do make the eventual release more exciting, at least in my opinion. It's like the difference between someone giving you something you want, or putting it in your face, taking it away, putting it in your face, taking it away and then eventually giving it to you. The payoff is more exciting after an initial build-up. So while I'm pretty impatient, that's actually a good thing.

Just for reference, build 8A432 now exists. Meaning:

1. 8A428 was never gold master.
2. 10.4.1 is in the works before 10.4 is released
3. my brain hurts

I bloody hate rumours, wish some concrete information would be released, or nothing at all

8A432 is for Tiger Server. As far as anyone knows 8A428 is still GM for Tiger. And yes I've heard 10.4.1 is in the works. Clearly it's just a timing thing thats holding up Tiger now.

Another unsubstantiated rumor:

Appleinsider reports that Apple has seeded another build of Mac OX 10.3.9 build 7W94 which is expected to be released "imminently".

Meanwhile, Apple's work on Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) appears to be continuing with the most recent internal build at 8A432. Build 8A428 was reported to be declared Gold Master (10.4.0).

Despite no official annoucement from Apple on April 1, ThinkSecret maintains that Tiger will be released in April, but with a mid-month announcement and "shipping by the close of the fourth week at the latest".

As Xie said, 432 is Server. Also the 10.3.9 build is real (It leaked ).

If 10.3.9 is final I would at least like to have that if I can't have Tiger yet. Was reading over the list of changes in the dev builds and seems like some good stuff being added (sure only bug fixes but if it makes stuff work better till Tiger I'll take it - for FREE).

Neither of my Macs will see 10.3.9 unless it's released weeks in advance of Tiger (Unlikely).
