Ok i've installed the preview and now my McAfee VirusScan 10 wont work, all i get is blank pages, anyone got any ideas?

If this is the case then the McAfee product you use isn't compatible with the new version of IE. Contact McAfee support and find out if there is a way to make the two products work together. I highly doubt they will rush into any thing being that IE is a beta.

And yes, "about:blank" works fine.

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" "about:blank"

:) "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" "about:blank"

REPLACES
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome

thanks matt

We did confirm that the bug crashes IE. However, we did not find that the bug was exploitable by default to elevate privilege and run arbitrary code.

This bug had already been found during our code review and analysis that is a mandatory part of our development process; it was scheduled to be fixed before our next public release. We do not believe this bug is easily exploitable, and as an extra defense, the /GS flag also catches the overrun. This is a compiler flag that tells Windows to watch for some classes of buffer overflows. If Windows sees a problem, it kills the application, in this case IE, instead of running the exploit code. While this is certainly not our primary line of protection, it does offer defense-in-depth to help keep our customers secure.

At this time, we are not aware of any active exploits taking advantage of this bug. We will continue to monitor the situation and evaluate our response.

question not problem with IE7

when you open a link, it opens an entire window of IE7...is there away to open a new tab? wouldnt that be the point?

i know you can right click on the link and select the new tab but its a pain in the butt to right click everything. i tried berowing around in the Options but couldnt find anything about it.

Re: question not problem with IE7

IDLE, at this point there is no way around it. Several others have had this request (posted in the newsgroups) so I am certain some thing will come of it.

I merged your thread with our official discussion thread.

thanks Madmatt, wasnt sure if i should relate it to the orginal one started. sorry about that.

i didnt think there was a way. i tried looking around but couldnt find anything. i hope they make that "adjustment"

I do, however, like that you can force IE to focus to the newly created tab (which should be on by default in my opinion).

Middle-clicking a link opens it in a new tab instead of a new window.

That's hot, nice tip ;)
I didn't think it was a tip, to be honest. It works like that in pretty much every other tabbed browser, so I figured people would do it instinctively in IE 7 too. But yeah, I guess people moving up from IE 6 to IE 7 would probably not think of that. :D

I've never used a "tabbed browser" before IE7. I used Avant, which was a shell over IE previously, and honestly never tried it.

So, let me re-phrase, "nice informative statement of functionality" :lick:

Has anyone else had a problem with the back/forward buttons on advanced mice taking them back/forward two pages instead of just one?

I have a Logitech MX1000 mouse (Bluetooth model) and when I click the side button for back it actually takes me back two pages.

Seems to be fine here. using Logitech mx laser

It's fine here at work (I also have a MX1000 but not the Bluetooth version). Odd.

NR, your trick doesn't work with my mouse.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
