The Official Windows Mobile Discussion Thread

I took photos, customized the heck out of it, and then did nothing but use it.

You know this new Android thing from Google, anyone know if it'll be possible load that on a WM device.

Someone asked at XDA. Nobody has done it yet.

Flashing to the newest (leaked) ATT ROM right now. I will be flashing to the same ROM but with big storage once kyphur finishes it up.

Why would you play with leaked ROMs? Can't that render your device useless?

It's fun. The new ROM works well too. Stable.

Most US cities aren't listed (e.g. Albany, NY) in the XML file. Here's how you can add your city.

hey matt, could you give a synopsis of your list...you know, what they do, what they fix, etc

All programs I have listed above are for the Kaiser/Tilt/8925

KaiserTweak allows you to make changes to system settings without editing the registry. I have added a couple custom tweaks in (such as removing the animated startup screen).

HTC Action Screen (which may work on other HTC devices) links the application to an available button (I use the camera button to bring it up) and provides an easy way to make phone calls, send an email/sms/mms, create a new contact/calendar/task. This is a HTC program.

HTC Home Screen (which may work on other HTC devices) gives you the large clock, weather, etc. on your home screen. This is a HTC program.

Remove Hidden Proxy (only for AT&T users) removes the hidden proxy server that you do not have access to without editing the registry. The second restores the hidden proxy server.

Touch Phone Dialer (may work on other HTC devices) is the phone dialer from the Touch and Touch Dual. The video button has been removed for Tilt owners.

Windows Mobile Black is a black HTC branded theme.

how is the touch dialer you're talking about differant then the onscreen dialer?

as far as the htc home progcram great program you can add some cusitmization options by downloading a plugin from here

The phone dialer is black and without video calling. Tilt owners got screwed by AT&T with a nasty looking blue dialer. Of course, you can use a registry edit to disable the AT&T dialer back to the default HTC dialer, but some of AT&T's images are built into the ROM.

I'll have to look at these later on, although I'm a bit scared to hax0r my device since I just bought it :)

I know they don't do insurance or hardware, but do they cover the phone if it's a software malfunction?

None of those CABs above are considered hacking your device. They are all programs that are installed and can be removed using Remove Programs.

KaiserTweak is a safe to use tweaking program that will greatly improve the functionality of your device.

Flashing to a leaked ROM isn't the smartest and I waited a week to see what others were saying and nobody had any problems. I flashed it last night and have had no problems whatsoever. Now I'm waiting for a clean ROM based on it which I will install next.

I added directions in my post with HTC Home for updating the list of cities you are able to select from.

I'll check with this later once I get to the hotel, thanks.

OK - when are you going to be able to deal with alarms on your smartphone and have it update Exchange, or vice versa? If I snooze/dismiss something in either location, I don't want to have to do it again !

OK well say you are on your 8925 (tilt), or any other WM5/6 device for that matter, and you get an alarm. Such as, Meet with So and So at 5PM. You can either snooze or dismiss it on your phone, and then when you get back to a PC and use OWA/Outlook, you have to do the same again. I want to be able to handle this alarm/alert/reminder in either the Smartphone or on the PC side and have that sync. It doesn't make any sense really, everything else does just fine (status of messages, contacts, calendar adds/changes, etc).

Fix it!!

The notifications do not work the same way. Dismissing or adjusting the reminder time on your device does not have an affect on your computer.

I understand that, I'm just wondering if/when that will ever get changed so it DOES affecf the PC.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
