Matt's Upgrade Thread

Most mobo manufacturers have similar software.

I use asusprobe on my system and it works very well.
That should work, as I have an ASUS mobo - I'll have to look into that :)

I hate the Intel program. It works well. But there is no way to shut it down when you are done using it. You have to stop the service and then kill two processes. Pretty lame that they don't have a way to "quit".

Also, it says my processor temp is 52C. Not bad.

That's kind of lame (regarding how you need to turn it off) - have you checked any program documentation on how to control that?

I also assume it's something that runs at startup?

If my processor temp was 52C, I would crap my pants, literally

Hey it's an Intel chip. They double as a Hibachi. :D

I get squeemish if my AMD gets to 45C

Gonaads - what do you use for temp monitoring in Windows?

Pictures of final setup coming tomorrow morning. Prepare yourself Saz =)

Very Very nice bro - can you post a pic of that keyboard? It looks quite interesting :)

Thank you. That'll have to wait. I'm not there right now. But I will.

Go home on your lunchbreak, take some pictures, and have a cookie

It will make the rest of the day that much better :)

I like 35 minutes away. I had a lunch date anyway.

Its a nice/clean setup :)

I have to clean up all my cables behind my system, I am using up all my USB ports on my computer and my monitor and 1 on my keyboard

Need to get rid of some of the devices :(

Or get multi-functional - Do you have seperate printer/scanner/fax type thing?

I don't have a printer connected to my system.

If I need to print I print at work either with memory key or from home using vpn or alternate. The printer is strictly for the girl to print photo's and do her grad work and she's in florida.

I used ATI Overdrive to overclock my card. I try and run the automated clock configuration utility and half way through it errors out (the utility says it stopped responding).

However, it gives me the following specs...
GPU: 679MHz
Memory: 765MHz

Which is confusing because the card is supposed to be:

GPU: 625MHz
Memory: 1.45GHz

So the GPU is higher clocks. But the memory clocks is a lot lower. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
