.zip files in XP

I tried the method in annoyances.org that removes the windows built in support for .zip files but it's still there. I rebooted several times, damn Microsoft.. it probably reverted back. Anyone know of a permanent solution? I hate seeing the .zip files treated as folders.

I've installed winzip and it took care of this problem for me.

Yeah, I have WinRar and associated it with Zip files and it took care of the problem.
