Xp Not Reading Cd R

xp wont read my cdr's it just sits there and the light keeps blinking but when i put in a regular cd it works fine and also sometimes the cd r will work once out of like 50 tries but it reads realy slow i have a creative rw 8432 anyone know what might be wrong ?

Same thing happened to me, I found that the something was happening in the burning processes, either the system recources were diverted somewhere else or I hit the tower. Maybe it is the CD-RW drive

Make sure you have ALL the cd patches from windows updates there were a few that involved problems reading burned cd's and such.
