XP Network Printing issues.

Hiya,
Just upgraded a PC in our office to XP (ugrade from win98) we have 2 printers on our Network that we print to which work with other XP PC's. After installing the drivers and it runs thru the installation I try to print a test page and I get failed to print icon in the task bar. These printers are an HP 2000c and a Xerox document cntr 440, Why was it able to install these printers on other XP machines and not this one?
the user does have administrative rights to the PC and I did try using Administrator on the PC and it did the same thing.

How are the printers connected to the PCs? LPT, USB, network, etc

Directly networked via a NIC or print server in the printer, otrconnected to a PC and shared? If connected to a PC and shared, how are they conencted to the PC (Printer port, USB, etc)

The Xerox 440 is hooked up by NIC and the HP 2000c is off of the Server's printer port itself.
