Windows User Friendly

I would say less then XP and less then a Mac. If you've tried Vista your all set.

how did you figure that out?
I've used it, as well as XP and a Mac. Windows 7 was a step backwards IMO. They hide everything possible under a sea of menus, I guess to "protect the end user" or something. The UI is just not a step forward for everyday use.

It depends on what you are used to. No new operating system (or program upgrade) is user friendly out of the box because it is different and has a learning curve.

After you are past the learning curve Windows 7 is ok. I like it and two friends at work who have migrated were pleased.

How steep the curve will seem to you depends on what OS you are migrating from and how tolerant you are of software written to make things take longer in the name of security.

When in doubt download the Beta and install it for dual boot to see if you can tolerate it.

In parting, it is way better than VISTA if that helps. :)

It might be better then Vista, but what isn't? It's also not that much better, 7 is basically a finished version of Vista. I would go Mac or *nix as Windows is on it's way out IMHO.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
