how can i disable windows logo testing, i'm trying to install direct x 9.i got it from microsoft for crying out load!

Your refering to Driver Signing?

You want the hardware tab of system properties, click the driver signing button and set it to ignore or warn.

DX9 should be digtially signed and WHQL certified, ensure the setup packages signature is intact before installing.

i have done as you suggested ,i chose ignore
but i still get the message
The software you are installing has not passed windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with windows xp
And will not be installedQA
all for direct x
whats going on?

Try clicking start/run... type "regsvr32 softpub.dll" (without quotes) and click OK.

The package may be corrupt or your system may be unable to verify its intergrity.

In order to verify the packages intergrity your system needs Cryptographic Services running:

That may solve the issue

Enyo-you were right ,it was probably my own fault i had
Cryptographic Services disabled
