The Hard Drive is a Maxtor 40 GIG

Is it possible to dual boot Windows 95 and Windows XP both using NTFS or doesnt Win95 support NTFS?

I have the updated OEM Windows 95 OSR 2.5 version with USB and stuff.

The same question also applies to Windows NT 4.0 Workstation.

Thx! 🙂

I am not so sure that Windows 95 supports NTFS as we know it. I did divy a Windows 95 hard-drive some odd years ago running a dual-boot of Linux & 95.

I wonder if you could divy the drive with Partition Magic using XP as a base, and then load in Windows 95 on the second partition.

I would check with someone from Partition Magic to see what they would recommend. Most people that sell software and hardware these days seem to know less about it than we do seemingly. But it might be worth a long shot.

Sorry I couldn't be more help on this.

Regards,
John

95 and 98 don't support ntfs. yes you can dual boot with those OS's. Install 95 on it's own fat or fat32 partition and install XP on it's own ntfs partition. If you want 95 to see the XP partition, use fat32.

im not to sure about this
but i think 95 has to be on the C partion
sum1 correct me if im wrong

LOL

I found a program from Winternals called NTFS or Win98 (and 95) and it lets you access NTFS partitions from 95 and 98. I got the cr*ck*d version 1.07 which is the latest.

I am off now to dual boot 95 and XP😀
