Who's built a Core i7 system?

Anyone here built a Core i7 system yet? If so, how does it compare to Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad?

I haven't built a new system in a while and have been considering building a new one using the Core i7 940.

not yet, but I play to build one using the 2.6Ghx i7, asus x58 board and ocz ddr3 ram 🙂

I recommend everyone spec their machines around that 🙂

Any particular reason(s) for those choices? I'm partial to Intel motherboards and was planning on using a DX58SO or if it's out when I build a DX58SO2. I've had very good luck with G.Skill RAM too...

Mine is going to be the intel x58 board with corsair dominator ddr3 triple channel and 2.93 processor 😛

I am thinking about getting a sapphire 4870 1 gig video card as well. But haven't decided.
