Whats better for media encoding?

so right now which processor is best, and the media programs i use should utilize all four cores.

i don't suppose you've seen any charts with the core 2 duos vs xeon 2 cores have you?

Intel doesn't make a better processor. The new Xeon processors are amazing and crazy fast (with 8MB L2 cache).

I can't find anything on Intel's site that compares C2E/C2D to the Xeon processor. I did find this though.

i don't care how much it costs, i need to get the fastest processor on the market right now for rendering, that will run under windows xp.....

i don't know i'm going crazy.... don't you think the kentfield is faster than the dempseys?

ok now i have decided on the 5160 xeon, i now need to find a motherboard for it, but i cant seem to find one anywhere, anyone have any ideas.

ok screw it i'm not paying $700 for a mobo, i'm going back tot he quad core kentfield.

now i just need a suggestion for a case.

things to consider

good air flow.... and needs to be able to fit this psu.
