Edvice recently tested NAV 2002's ability to detect viruses in incoming e-mail messages. NAV 2002 includes an Email protection feature that scans incoming and outgoing e-mails for viruses.
Edvice encountered 4 vulnerabilities in NAV 2002 email protection feature; one of the vulnerabilities affects the Auto-Protect mechanism as well.
The vulnerabilities allow bypassing NAV 2002 email protection.

I refuse to show the link to where I got this information publicly as it shows the details of the exploit. Contact me if you want more information.

bah. There are various vulnerabilities in every anti virus program.

The problem is people opening attachments that they don't know what they are, and having macros and auto preview turned on in outlook.

i'm happy that more and more ISP's are using programs like brightmail on their servers to remove the viruses before they get to the user. Let's face it, programs are always going to have vulnerabilities...virus writers are always gonna find ways to fool them..what we need is to start paying closer attention to what we open :)

just my 2 cents

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
