Hey all,

I got this workstation here, XP Pro. The boss went out and bought a desktop printer. Anyways they installed this thing yesterday (with the CD), and since then none of the USB slots are working properly anymore. None of the USB flash drives, and other peripherals either don't get recognized or work erratically. All USB slots front and back. USB is still listed in the Device Manager, but all listed as "unknown devices"

I removed the printer and the software/drivers out of the Add/Remove panel but it still not working properly.

Anything else that I could try?

Thanks,

Heeter

Remove the software from ADD/REMOVE (verify it's all gone).

Go to the Device Manager and remove all USB devices - reboot.

Let PnP redect and install your devices.

When it comes time to install the printer, if it's not multifunction skip their crap and just point to the drivers on the CD.

Happens at my office all the time, real pain in the ass. HP is notorious for it, their software ****s everything else up.

It is a HP too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOLOL

Thanks will be at that office tomorrow morning to fix this little dilemma

No prob, good luck.

FWIW, HP 2015 is the model we seem to have that problem with the most.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
