Uninstalling XP

Is there a way to uninstall Windows XP?? I have it running on a very slow PC, and I want it back to Win 98. soo how do I uninstall it without formatting

Had this conversation earlier with a friend
as far as i know, format isthe only way.

You could manually use a bootdisk... delete folder by folder (windows, program files etc)
but its not ensuring a clean machine and things could mess up
why dont you back up your data onto cd, or another partition, then format c:
