Tooooo many background tasks

Bringing up the task manager shows me loads and loads of tasks running in the background.

What ones can i switch off ?

I recognise some of them, but about 75% i don't know.

Help teckies !!!!

How many is tooooo many? I have over 30 processes running in my task manager. Most of those need to be there. None causing any problems.


I think I'll go have some raw liver and cold coffee.

Just checked, and there are 33 tasks

I would suggest that is fairly normal.
At least it was when I was running "shine" with Uncle Jessie back in Chicasaw County. See you at the Boars Nest. 😉

33 is certainly not normal - nor is it anywhere near optimal. Try the link above.

If you open the task manager and click on end process, you will be advised which tasks can and cannot be closed. If your computer shuts down or operates irratically, take note of what was closed, trial and error I found.

It also depends what you have running.( i.e. motherboard monitor, stat bar, dashboard, network junk, etc. )They all add up.
