The Really Long Thread

Verreh nice, want one of those myself. Happy with the X360 plugged into my Dell 2405FPW for the moment though 😀

42" was too large for the room. 32" is perfect.

So KC, what happened to your chiefs?
Was probably the most pathetic attempt at someone being a quarter back I have ever seen...

Haha, what a load of BS to scare people 😀

You know what should be illegal? At the end of the semester when you go back to sell back the books you bought for $400 and you get $40. 😡

I agree, it should be and I feel your pain wrt selling them back - I usually go the eBay route

Moo! Don't take that from Derek Heny.

On a side note... here is my new TV.

Nice new TV - when's the party to break it in? 😀

What happened? Last I checked the lost.

They didn't have a first down until half way through the third quarter. It wasn't entirely Trent's fault, as KC dropped 4 passes in the first half. When you go 2/7 with 4 of the 5 incompletions being dropped, how is that his fault?

They fell into the same trap that Cincinnati did a few weeks ago. It was touted all week that anyone can run on Indy, and the Chiefs tried to force it. The first play of the game should have been Play Action - which is more of their style, instead they ran it twice and got no where because the Colts were so pumped up to try it. They ran more than they passed on First Down, leaving 3rd and long almost every time. With very few exceptions, I thought Trent played rather well. As Brad pointed out, it's a team effort.

Their Defense, except of course towards the end, was amazing. I didn't expect them to make the playoffs, I was excited they did. I didn't expect them to win yesterday as the Colts were clearly the better team - when Manning is Manning he can't be stopped, and he was why the pulled away down the stretch.

If Trent didn't get his foot stepped on and fell on that 3rd and Goal after Peyton's first INT, who knows if they would have scored and what the outcome would have been. By the way, also not his fault.

Trent Green doesn't suck, since 2002 he has a QB raiting of 91.1, which is third in the NFL. He's the man in KC, but I don't think he should have played because of his ankle and shaky season due to his concussion.

They had a rough year where their starting QB went down in Week 1. One of the best Guards in the NFL - Will Shields - retired during mini camp, and that was a big blow. He has been a Pro Bowl stud most of his career, and the man wrt to run blocking. Last year when he was hurt, they had to use Tony Gonzalez to block a lot because of the lack of protection on that side of the line. That was also the case again yesterday because of Freeney and the rest of the Colts pass rushers - who you could see why when they had no choice put to pull T.G. and put him as a TE to catch some passes later in the game.

Honestly - don't go saying someone "sucks" without statistics to back it up

I never said KC sucks, just that the QB does, they had 3 interception! and got not a first down on any of them...

I think Ty Law did his part, i think the QB should have been taken out first quarter, he was not throwing the ball, simply pushing it, 2 yd passes and such...
It was painful to watch, especially since i wanted KC to win...

You don't bench your starting QB in a playoff game. The receivers weren't catching the ball and they had plenty of drops too (do you bench them?). The kicker missed an easy field goal (do you bench him too?).

There are 10 other guys on that football field.

I understand that...
So matt thinks the entire team stinks, which very well might be true.
How bout the SeaHawks - Cowboys game.
The SeaHawks did not deserve to win that one... They messed up on the 1 yd line with 4 downs...

Either the Chiefs choked or the Colts were that much better. They aren't the first team to choke and they won't be the last.

Once the league figured out Tony Romo and the pressure got to him he faltered. Not surprising for a rookie.

I think both the Colts and the Chiefs choked, with his thrown interceptions.. And the Chiefs definately choked on them not being able to make diddly-squat out of those interceptions...

Well I'm glad you repeated your point without reading my justification why Trent Green wasn't pulled as you keep repeating. On the stat sheet, he was 2/7 in the first half - 4 of those 5 incompletions were dropped. But yeah, you are right, that is Trent Green's fault - my bad 😀

Good points. They talked about using Huard in the second half, I would have been fine either way most likely. But I agree, you can't bench your starting QB in a playoff game, especially since they were still in the game thanks in part to their Defense playing so well.

Trent Green got stepped on by a Left Guard - do you bench him? As you also mentioned, the missed Field Goal as well - he can't be benched.

I expected the Chiefs to lose, because the Colts ARE better. I hoped for a better showing than that though.

They made the playoffs, played the game, and lost the game - as a TEAM. Period.

I think someone struck a nerve.
Most likely - it was a tough loss for me to swallow. I just don't like ignorant statements like that when they aren't justified. Teams that "suck" don't make the playoffs. People say they "backed in". Well, last I checked, they were up in the air with 3 other teams the last weekend, all who played at home (Cincy, TEN, DEN). KC, also at home, won when they had to, the rest of the teams lost.

Anyways, I'm done with it. My pride is bruised but I'm excited for next year when they should have some more control under Herm and have a fresh start - hopefully with a healthy Trent Green

At least your team made it to the playoffs unlike mine.

Are you guy's trying to put the rest of us to sleep?
