When you create a restore point, where do the file/s get stored for backup, as you can't put it on the network or anything I need to know so I can create a backup other that on the HOSTPC.
In a hidden folder called "System Volume Information" - to see this folder go to windows explorer>tools>folderoptions>view> and uncheck 'hide protected operating system files'
you have to make sure you have show hidden files and folders checked, then you have to make sure you have show protected operating system files.
Then you have to use the security options to give yourself access to the folder as it is a systems only folder and only the system has read/write access by default
Just so you know I don't think you should bother backing up the restore files. they are connected to the SID's that created them, therefore if you re-install winxp they won't work, same goes if you try and use them on another comp
Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
