swf?

I am trying to view this one webpage and instead of it loading up it prompts me to download the swf file. I am pretty sure that is shockwave, which i don't have a problem with. I am confused on instead of running the video it prompts me for the download. Isn't all shockwave the same?
i am using IE wondering if there is some 2nd plugin i need for it.

it was flash, I had installed a version but i guess it was older maybe. Now it works fine thanks
