StarCraft Problem

I know that the game is old, but I wanted to install to play it, so bear with me. When I try to play the game with the origional CD, I get the following error, any ideas?

don't put compatibility mode on. run it and update it , then your fine.

it is the origional copy, and the CD is in good condition, only used it once to copy and then installed the copy, but now I am just using the origional, and STILL DOES NOT WORK.

install it with the original cd. I had the problem with Ghost Recon and Sum of All Fears. The game would install fine from a CD-R but wouldn't play with any CD. Just uninstall and install with the original and you shoudl be fine.
