i like to have my folders set up so that they're sorted by type, and in a "list" fashion.

i am to the point wehre i have to "make all folders like this one" constantly to keep everything going.

anyone know why its changing? how to fix it? anything? hehe

Dunno, I don't have the problem myself. I set mine for list as my default view, no other frills and it's working ok. If I ever want to sort by any other category, I just scroll my mouse to the header type (name, size, type, etc.) and click on it.

Sometimes windows XP forgets it's folder view settings.

Here is the solution.

Backup these RegKeys.

1:[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU]

2:[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags]

After that you must delete them.

Restart windows to take effect.

Now you can change each folder and the setting will stay.

There is a lot easier way to do that..
Actually this is exactly the same way, I want to have my Folders and keep them that way too..

--- So, to do that. First browse to any Folder in Windows Explorer ---

- And then sort the folder as you always want to have it (ie. VIEW/LIST -- ARRANGE ICONS BY TYPE)

- Then, Go to the "folder Options" in the top menu in Explorer..
- Select the second TAB called "View"
- On the "View" TAB - Press the button "Apply to all folder"
- Thats it.. you're done.

Good man!!! I'll have to put this thread on my 'most referenced list,' a few folks have this problem.

Question:
Does the BagMRU/Bags keys in the HKEY_.DEFAULT hive have to be deleted also? Just thought I'd ask before I did this.
