SendTo Desktop(create shortcut) Missing

My SendTo Desktop(create shortcut) option is missing from the right click context menu.

I have tried all the generic fixes like creating a new text document in the sendto folder named "Desktop(create shortcut).DESKLINK" but it doesn't even show up on the list. When I try "Desktop(create shortcut).lnk" it works but it sends a copy of the file and not a shortcut back to the file. 🙄

Clarify please: you are adding these files to c:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\SendTo?

Thanks Barbara-Ann but that only works for Windows versions other than XP and 2000.
