Security for win98

hi guyz , i have some old computers on which win98 is running.The problem is that it gets a lot of problems as they are commercially used due to mishandling of the programs.
i can't install win2000 cause its a bit heavy .

SO is there any software that could just add security like win2000 to win98 so that the other persons could not do any changes with curcial programs.
