Greetings All,

I am running windows XP Corporate edition and If I right click on a file a box will come up with Sharing and permissions. How do I set a password so that if I was running a network you would have to enter a password in order to have access to the folder that is trying to be accessed? If this makes since.

or give me an alternative

Thanks in advance

😕

If you're currently running a Fat32 file system your options are pretty limited. Converting to NTFS will give you a plethora of options for securing your data, including browsing a network and giving permission to only specified users.

Thanks for the effort. But not quite the information I was looking for. I am running windows nt (Xp corporate). There is supposed to be an option when I allow a folder to be shared to establish a password and username in order to change append and delete files from another computer. This is what I'm trying to access.😕
