With Outlook Express 5, I could add a DWORD value of
NoSplash to the registry, and set it equal to 1 to turn off
the splash screen. This doesn't seem to work with OE6.

Anybody know how to turn that thing off?

Thanks!

yea id like to fined this out too i have heard theres some nasty little bugs out there to take advantage of this

Sick of the Outlook Express splash screen every time you start? This tip will help you remove it.

Open your registry and create a new value called 'NoSplash' in the key below.

Change the value to equal '1' to disable the splash screen.

Exit the registry and restart Outlook Express.

Keys:

Outlook 4.0 and below
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express]

Outlook 5.0 & 6.0
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{** Identity ID **}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0]

Where {** Identity ID **} is your system identity ID.

Settings

Value Name: NoSplash
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: 1 = no splash screen, 0 = splash screen

Thanks ZeroChaos, I had the right value, but the wrong key.

Works great.
