Has anyone purchased a remanufactured Gateway computer?

No, but working on cars all the time I know that remanufactured means almost all components are new, and rebuilt means just what needed to be replaced was replaced. Hope this helps.

I don't know what you mean by chassis. 🙄 But if the box is two & a half to three years old for it to be refurbished then I personally would not touch it. They want top $ for a system that will be having trouble keeping up with the latest apps & something which will need an urgent update if possible (probably already maxed out) in a matter of months if not weeks. Have you seen the add on tv for that sort of thing, ex government I think. A$600 & they look ancient. Total waste of good money to put towards a decent system.

Sorry,
By "chassis" I meant something that was purpose built for at least 4 to 5 years usage , built on a good MoBo, vid card, sound card etc.... I wasn't really referring to an ex gov shitbox with desktop case etc...
