Realtek rtl8139 wont work

I am using a Realtek RTL8139 NIC. It worked this afternoon (Feb 25). Now the computer was shut down and it doesnt work. It only shows 10 mbps in the network connections when it should show 100 mbps. It is hooked up to a linksys wireless B router, the wireless internet works but the internet on the computer hooked up by ethernet doesnt work.

It says the 10 mbps even if the ethernet isnt plugged in.

realtek are cheap and naff controllers prone to odd and frequebt failure. Pop out and get an intel nic

Realtek are cheap, yes. But considering that (guessing) 90% of all pcs are running the 8139 chip, it's good enough. But try getting a new card. They're so cheap anyway.
