Is there a way to get winamp to play in your taskbar like the windows audio player?

taskbar or your quick launch area?

if your talking about the bottom far right side of the screen, thats the taskbar.

the bottom next to the start menu is the quick launch area.

winamp should automatically go into the quick launch area upon install.

Which version of winamp? 2.8 by default goes to the taskbar and to the quicklauch. 3, I have no idea since I don't mess with it.

If you want it to play in the tray (far right), there's a plugin which displays the play stop next/prev icons in tray. If you want me to post this plugin, just ask! 😎

what i mean is to actually have the player embedded in the taskbar like this:

Mine look like this, the only trouble is that XP displays new icons from the right to the left... As it is an kind of old plugin, buttons ordre is reversed.

Is this what you want?

Swi, could you post that please. It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Pete

Here it is...

unzip the DLL in your winamp/Plugins directory

Thanks dude, you are the bomb. Will this work with Winamp 3?

Thanks again,
Pete

haven't tested it yet... but winamp3 will surely be backward compatible for all several billions of plugins available 🙂

If it's not, i think we'll have to wait for 1.0
