question about bios setting...

i recently updated my bios. I have an old P3 550. The new bios has a setting "Main Clock Speed" and the options "normal" (100mhz) and "103mhz". When I set it to 103mhz, windows reads my processor as running at 566mhz instead of 551. It gives a small performance increase, but not enough to risk damaging my PC as I can't upgrade right now. Would it be safe to set it to 103mhz and leave it? I don't have "xp-erience" ;) with overclocking. Thanks for any help.

When the manufacturer gives you an option like that you can be sure it's safe... 15mhz is pretty safe...

Try getting 218mhz more :)... Now that's NOT safe...

kidding, k22!

if it is stable... then i think it is safe... :D

but if u dun wan to risk it, then change back to 100mhz lol... coz 16 mhz wont increase too much...

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
