Question about a PHONELINE NETWORK...

#1
Has anyone here set up a PHONELINE Network?

I have....BUT...I have a question for anyone else who has also done this or has knowledge about it.

Can it be set up on a PBX-like phone system??

I have a friend that has a multiline phone system using Nortel phones in his home and he wants to build a phoneline network to share his ADSL throughout the home.

Can this be done? I dont know if it can.....it was my understanding that it had to be a single phone line run through every room so the network can operate properly. Someone please enlighten me or insert any comments. I am very curious about this because I think I will be the one installing it if possible and I want to minimize problems.

THANKS!!!

No it will not work through a PBX phone system. Phoneline networking requires analog phone lines, and the jacks that the PCs plug into must be on the same external phone line.

Ep, glad to see you come back and tidy up...did want to ask a one day favor, I want to enhance my resume , was hoping you could make me administrator for a day, if so, take me right off since I won't be here to do anything, and don't know the slightest about the board, but it would be nice putting "served administrator osnn", if can do, THANKS
