Putting in CPU

awesome.

so, you didn't have to do any mods to the cpu or anything, right? and do you happen to know what revision your board is?

No mods to the CPU whatsoever!

How can i find out the mobo revision?

Extra info from forum post:

Thats the beauty of it, do as "OC_This" has stated.

1. As with any CPU make sure you seat it in there correctly.
2. Mount HSF unit.(artic silver is recommended)
3. Boot up, press "del" and go into the bios immediately.
4. In CPU setup do the following:
a. Set "ratio" if you haven't already, set it to 4:2:1
b. Set FSB to 133 if you haven't already
c. Set Multiplier to 13x.
If you have only a 12x or 12.5x, need to flash your bios
to the latest bios to get the 13x or 13x higher multiplier.
A 12x or 12.5x setting will not work.
d. Select f10, this will save and exit the bios and boot
into the OS.
5. As its booting up into the OS, watch your post and it should
come up or read the proper speed of the new CPU.
And all should be golden.
6. Now you can begin to raise/OC your FSB alittle each time. You want be able to raise/OC your multiplier cause these boards, even with the lastest bios flash, only gives the highest multiplier of 13x.

I flashed to the 9N BIOS before i upgraded.

from The Tinkerer on that same thread:

"On the bottom side of the last PCI slot at the bottom of the mobo there is a sticker with a number 1.XX, where X is either 0, 01, or maybe 02. Mine says 1.0. Not that it helps much as we don't know whether any versions of the Kr7A work with the Tbreds."

but then 026TB4U says a couple posts later:

"The sticker on the KR7A is on the underside of the motherboard. So if it's mounted, it'll have to be removed."

so, it's under the last pci slot, either on top or bottom of the board.

The only number i can see (on a white sticky label) is 0.10.

is that it?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
