whats the difference between adblock and adblock plus? i've always used regular adblock and thought it was great, does the plus version offer any good extras/improvements?

Regular Adblock development was abandoned a long time ago. Adblock plus is a continuation with a auto updating filterset and a better blocking engine.

may i suggest stylish extension, then u can install the Ad Blocking FiltersetP its way better than adblockplus at least for me.....i have a similar setup

What do you use Stylish for? I'm using it for the Google Reader theme by Jon Hicks.

I visit a lot of sports sites that have crappy highlight flash videos installed and stylish dumps them quite nicely.

As far as button layout, I tried this and it seems to work very well. You have to right click, and get rid of the bookmarks toolbar, although as you can see it's still there(it leaves a useless blank line if you dont)

Everything is there, but more compressed.

Anybody have a favorite "Youtube/Google Video/Daily Motion/etc" download extension? I'm trying out https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4318

It works fairly well... but I'd prefer one that didn't have me go to another website to get the download link. Anyone know of one that doesn't?

Despite having used FFox for longer than I care to remember, I only just stumbled across this thread last night..
Had a lot of fun tweaking FFox, especially liked the removal of redundant buttons and those in off-states 😉

Only noticeable problem occured when using particular skins; the ones that link a background behind the navigation arrows.
Not a problem as such, merely buttons that look like they've been severed when they draw independently.

I spent an more time that was healthy trawling through the ongoing war launched by unscrupulous advertising-based webhosts against Firefox users.
Moreover 'AdBlock' users in particular . Interesting stuff! Thanks for the info 🙂

I haven't tried this as of yet, but it looks like it might be what you're after? Video DownloadHelper 2.5.1

Along side Adblock plus The filtersetG.updater is a must have.
